Homework is an opportunity for you to support your child's learning at home and to keep up to date with what is happening in class.
In Year 4 homework works as follows:
- Daily spelling practice: we will write out our spellings on the sheets in our Grammar Homework books every evening from Monday to Thursday in preparation for Friday's Spelling Challenge.
- Daily Mental Maths work: we have brand new Mental Maths books, and will answer a section every day from Monday to Thursday. We will complete Friday's section in class! This will be marked on Friday mornings.
- A Literacy or Maths homework every night from Monday to Thursday. We usually practise our grammar and comprehension on Monday and Wednesday, and Maths on Tuesday and Thursday.
- A weekly reading book: this will usually be a familiar Oxford Reading Tree book covered in class the previous week. Take the time to read this with your child to help boost their reading and comprehension!
