We love our guided reading sessions in Year Five. We have been using our Comprehension Reading Dice to help us explore and understand the different texts we read each week. Check out the video of us in action!
Narrative Writing
We have been working very hard on our Narrative Writing this term. We based our stories on the Legend of Finn McCool, focusing on the Scottish giant's side to the story! Together in class we used the technique of 'Hot Seating' to get into the mind of the Scottish giant in order to write from his perspective!
Persuasive Writing!
We have been learning about what makes a good piece of persuasive writing in the hopes to create our own persuasive leaflet to attract visitors to Ireland. Keep a look out for our Tellagami adverts coming soon!
Roald Dahl
This term we have been enjoying the genius of Roald Dahl. Check out some of the work we have completed on both our class novel "Danny Champion of the World," and Roald Dahl.
